Solomon Angst travelled from Switzerland to Canada as a young boy with his family. He settled in Ontario for several years, but then moved all the way to the west coast and settled in Washington state. Like so many of my family, he was a farmer. I find it interesting that he married his first wife when she was 19, and his second two decades later when she was 19 (he was 41 by this time. He is not the first that I have found in the family to marry a much younger wife after being widowed and then expand the family some more.

Ancestor History Ann Lee
In writing a history for Ann Lee, it was difficult to find much information. She had a short life and not a great deal of documentation was available. A large family filled in much space, but it is sad that I could not find out more about her life. It must have been difficult be unmarried and to have a child at the age of 17 in the county of Wellington, Ontario, where it seemed there were many churches. Hopefully, she found some happiness with Solomon and her children before the end of her short life.
Who is the right Sarah
As I started to write my ancestor history on Ann Lee, I realized that I could not write it yet. The first sentence is normally about who my ancestor’s parents are. As there was confusion over Sarah Holgate’s name and birthplace, I needed to sort that out before I could write about Ann.
Figuring it out took me through many records online for the Yorkshire District. FindMyPast was very useful with its proximity search and copies of original records. In the end, I succeeded in Finding Sarah.
